Conor is a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist accredited with and working under the guidelines of A. P. P. I. which come under the umbrella of PCI. Since graduating from U. C. D. as a Bachelor of Social Science Conor has been motivated by an avid interest in Psychoanalysis. Conor has worked and studied in Dublin, London, and New York and has developed a broad life-experience. Self-employed for the last fifteen years, Conor has applied his educational achievement to his own career development.
Conor has always had an insight and interest in the area of unconscious motivation, and works from a psychoanalytic perspective in order to approach the subject of the unconscious mind. Conor has worked in community based projects for the treatment of addiction and with young offenders and understands the effect of stigma on the lives of young people. Conor has worked in a crèche and understands the impact of our early lives in shaping who we become as adults. Conor has also gained valuable clinical experience working with out-patients, one-to-one in a psychiatric setting, for a number of years now. All in all, Conor has a broad perspective on the causes of human suffering and a desire to impact upon that.
The psychoanalytic approach is a talk therapy which aims to uncover the motivations that structure all manner of self-defeating behaviours.
