Anne Devlin
Qualifications
MA Psychotherapy, HDip Counselling Psychotherapy, BA (Hons) Psychology
Profile
Anne is fully a accredited psychotherapist affiliated to and working under the guidelines of the IACP. Anne’s Masters qualification in Psychotherapy was preceded by a post graduate higher diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Before studying to become a Psychotherapist Anne worked as and co-owned a successful Personal Fitness Training business for over ten years. Anne has always had a keen interest in human behaviour and motivation and combines her past experience as a Personal Fitness Trainer with her clinical experience as a Psychotherapist.
As a student Anne saw the positive personal impact that comes from furthering ones education, both on a personal level and a vocational level. Eight years ago Anne got the opportunity to work on a pilot programme which saw long term unemployed individuals undertaking further study. Anne has moved from a tutor to a mentor (of tutors) position. Anne gets to work closely with mentees, using her knowledge and experience to put in place a scaffold in which the mentee can grow and in turn create an environment for their students that is safe and one that allows every individual to reach their fullest potential.
Anne uses a humanistic and integrative approach in all of the work that she does. Anne responds to the clients needs by choosing different interventions to help the client move through their process. In recent years Anne has developed a keen interest in Childhood Trauma and Gender Identity. She continues to develop these areas of interest through her ongoing Professional Development.
Anne’s move into psychotherapy is born out of her desire to assist people as they try to cope with issues preventing them from leading a full life.
