She completed her clinical practice in Oasis Centre, St. Laurence’s Place, Dublin 1, where she worked for several years. Áine has also given a Bereavement workshop in Chrysalis Centre, Co. Wicklow.
Áine’s way of working is an integrative approach using Gestalt, Humanistic and Psychodynamic and Existentialist process. Gestalt is a German word, used in describing the whole as being more than the sum of the parts and the pattern within the whole. Gestalt psychotherapy is a practical and creative approach to psychotherapy, emphasizing that people cannot be understood in isolation, but only as part of the environments in which they live.
Each client is treated as an individual and no assumptions are made. The client brings what they want to each session. My way is to ‘do no harm’, going at the pace of the client. Each client has their own answers within, and the therapist is there to guide them. My approach is secular as I have no religious or ideological agenda.
She has many years’ experience working with individuals, walking alongside her clients through the process.
