Profile

Szilvia is an IACP and IAHIP Accredited Humanistic and Integrative psychotherapist and who holds a Master’s Degree in Psychotherapy and a higher diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Szilvia works under the code of ethics set out by the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).  She attends regular supervision and is committed to her ongoing professional development.

Szilvia worked in the fast-paced corporate environment for nearly 15 years before moving into Psychotherapy. She understands the challenges of modern living and the day-to-day struggles we all face. Her life journey and her work experience paved the way for her desire to gain a deeper understanding of what it is to be human. This led her way to train in psychotherapy.

Approaches

Szilvia comes from a psychodynamic and a humanistic and integrative training background, which has included person-centered, existential and Gestalt approaches.

Szilvia sees the quality of the therapeutic relationship as central to psychotherapy. Her work is focused on creating a warm and safe environment, where clients can explore their life experiences and work through any associated feelings. In this space, they can build a deeper understanding of themselves and learn to accept the various and unique aspects of who they are in their reality. She provides this with kindness and empathy within a non-judgmental and supporting environment.

Szilvia believes that every human being deserves to feel equals and thus to be allowed to reach their full potential. Szilvia is passionate about her work and has a high cultural sensitivity.

Szilvia has experience working with:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety and Stress
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Multicultural issues
  • Sexuality and Identity issues (LGBTQ+ and Transgender Community)
  • Disabilities
  • Relationship issues

Feedback from the client

“I would like to say I’m very grateful to you for the experience that I had in taking counselling with yourself. You were very friendly and supportive, making it very easy to feel like I was in a safe environment to be able to talk things through with you.
I would leave sessions feeling positive and almost excited to come back to delve more into things that had come up.
I really like that our relationship felt natural and the sessions ended (for now) from a level of comfort in that I could face anything that popped up in my life and if needed I wouldn’t think twice about contacting you to pick up in the future again.”
