Emily McIlveen (Online Only)
MSc degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy
BSc degree in Social Sciences
Emily is a qualified pre-accredited humanistic and integrative psychotherapist. She works according to the code of ethics and practice set out by the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapists.
Emily enables a calm, confidential and safe space in which her clients can reflect on their inner dynamics and begin to understand themselves. This allows clients to gain insight, self-awareness and an understanding of themselves that widens their perspectives and enables self-belief, resulting in an empowering experience. She supports her clients as their behavioural patterns become evident and as they get to know themselves, creating a foundation for self-worth and confidence. She works along side her clients in their developing therapeutic processes by validating their emotions and facilitating them to connect with themselves. Emily provides a warm compassionate environment, encouraging her clients to self-regulate their emotions as they become more knowledgeable of their internal and external worlds and how they exist within them.
Emily uses her humanistic and integrative approach to accompany her clients not only in a psychological and emotional sense but also the physical. She is very much of the thinking that the physical informs the psychological and emotional as she works with a body centred approach.
Emily has experience in working with:
- Anxiety & Stress
- Self-confidence/self-worth issues
- Sexual abuse
- Intrusive thoughts
Emily has experience of working both face to face and online.
