Profile
Dr. Jenny Gavin is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with experience of working across a variety of health care settings and populations. Jenny completed her undergraduate degree in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick in 2013 and then completed her Masters in Psychological Science (clinical psychology stream) in 2014. Following this, she worked as an Assistant Psychologist in a variety of settings, including the Child and Family Services, Adult Mental Health, Older Adult Services, and the disability services. Jenny then completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology through the University of Limerick in 2018. Over the past 10 years, Jenny has worked in a number of services including paediatric neuro-debilitation, child and adult disability, adult in-patient and outpatient services and child and adolescent mental health. Jenny is passionate about adopting a compassionate, person-centred approach in her work.
Jenny draws on numerous therapeutic models to suit the individual needs of the person, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment focused therapy and Psychodynamic therapy.
