Profile
Dr Emma Clancy is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with experience of working across a variety of health care settings and populations. Clinical Psychologists are professionals with a minimum of seven years university training, which Emma completed at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). They are specialists in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychological problems and mental health difficulties and can therefore offer both assessment and therapeutic intervention within City Therapy.
During her decade of professional training, Emma has worked in a broad range of mental health settings including public and private services both in Ireland and Northern Ireland. This work involved working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of difficulties including depression, anxiety, OCD, self-harm and suicidal ideation and with people with disabilities, both physical and intellectual.
Since qualifying, Emma has continued to work with people with the above presentations. In addition, she has diagnosed and offered intervention to people with emotion regulation difficulties, stress, trauma, eating disorders, Gender Dysphoria and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Emma uses a variety of approaches when working with a client including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic therapy and Mentalisation-based approaches. Emma believes in working with the client to consider what approach might suit them best, given that each person is unique

Fee
Emma’s fee is 120 euro per session (100euro after 3 sessions) for therapeutic work. Please enquire directly regarding a fee for extended assessments such as Autism assessments or Gender Dysphoria.
