With Deirdre, you will find a trustworthy, non-judgmental, caring approach within which you can explore your current situation and find support to map out your way forward.
Approach
Deirdre’s approach to psychotherapy is person-centred and incorporates many approaches depending on the client and their circumstances, for example:- Psychodynamic, Gestalt Therapy, Object Relations and Body Psychotherapy (inc. nervous system regulation).
Initially, it is important to gain an understanding of the person in their current situation, their relationship to their self, to others, the environment and the social context within which they experience life. Psychotherapy provides a space to explore experiences and associated emotions which often influence choices and behaviours. Change comes about in psychotherapy through processing emotions, behaviours and experiences which in turn can strengthen an individuals inner sense of direction, self-esteem and self-resilience. It can also provide clarity and insight which enables an individual to see the world from a different perspective, creating the opportunity to find a new way forward.
Deirdre worked for 20 years in the multinational/technology sector.
