Profile
Chanel is a Counselling Psychologist with a masters degree from the university of Pretoria South Africa. She is accredited as a graduate member of the Psychological Society of Ireland as well as with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
Chanel has experience in varied therapeutic environments working with clients of all age groups. She has particular experience working with adolescents and students providing career guidance and personal development; substance abuse directly or indirectly relating to clients; and chronic illness and physical rehabilitation.
Chanel takes a integrative approach incorporating techniques from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Mindfulness, to suit a clients’ needs. She aims to provide a safe space to explore behaviours or beliefs that may be contributing to emotional challenges and which limit a client’s potential.
Chanel has previously lectured Psychology and Health Psychology and currently works in the health and wellness industry. She has a keen interest in the relationship between physical and mental health and the importance of considering both in overcoming and managing many of the challenges of stress, anxiety or depression seen by clients today.
