Profile
Anne Started off her career in the fitness industry becoming the co-owner of a successful Person Fitness Training business where she remained for over 10 years.
Anne also worked in a not-for-profit organisation teaching unemployed early school leavers from disadvantaged backgrounds in QQI Level 5 modules. The primary aim of her work was to educate people so that they could change the course of their lives and potentially reduce the instance of intergenerational poverty and disadvantage. Anne spent 7 years in this role and this time really solidified her passion for the importance of meeting people in their reality, ‘it was a humbling experience’. It also highlighted the need for tackling barriers to education and mental health supports.
Anne’s experience as a Personal Fitness Trainer and Tutor paved the way for her desire to work with people in a way that integrates all aspects of the person. In her work as a psychotherapist Anne marries motivation, psycho-education, support and tailored interventions to assist her clients.
Anne’s work has evolved over the years and has become quite focused, her passions as a psychotherapist are focused on Childhood Trauma, Gender Identity and how to use the body to access and integrate suffering through Sensorimotor work.
